| 24/7 is what its name is meant to represent. The love of music twenty-four-seven. Its the feeling of life being about music. The band has gone through several different phases and line up. The original band being the concept of current drummer and founding member David. He along with a few friends in high school wanted to for a group. All members had musical background in classical instruments. They formed the group in early 2001. The five member group had few practices and consisted of a two guitarists, a bassist, drummer, and keyboard player. After several months the band members saw that they had different ideas of the type of music they wanted to play. So the band split except for two members. One being David the founding member and the keyboard player Chris. The two rememaining members wanted to reform a new group with a more punk rock feel. This time Chris left behind the keyboard and took on the guitar position. They needed a new bassist which they found in a friend. This was the first lineup of the trio known as 24/7. This lineup learned alot of blink covers and played mostly at a small local venues. Soon they found someone who was willing to manage the band. The young lady didn’t get them much gigs and winded up causing more problems for the band. This all leading up to the release of the bassist and manager. Now without a bassist and no manager 24/7 decided to take a break and start working on their own material while searching for a new bassist. They soon found a new bassist and began the new line up, still covering blink tunes but at the same time writing and performing their own material. They also found a new manager in Chris’s older brother Louie. During this time they also hooked up eith a local promoter. This again proved to be a bad move. Although the promoter pretended to help the band he winded scaming the band for more than 600 dollars. Now more in debt and with out much the band went on to start out on its own again. The bassist was able to get the band some performance equipment for a few shows. Only thing was that the ties between the band were starting to become shaky and in late 2002 the band released a second bassist from the group. Once again without a bass player. The two remaining member ,"David and Chris", continued to write more music. Thing were going slow in finding a new bassist. The bands music was also showing a new form emurging. No longer the punk rock type music they had writtten before, the band was now coming out with a more rock feeling. Then in mid 2003 the band found a new bassist in thier former manager Louie. Now with a new line up the band began to take a new direction into a more alternative rock type of music. The new lineup’s first big project was the release of thier first demo. After finding a friend in one of the members of another local band, he agreed to record thier 3 song demo out of his home studio. The demo realeased in late 2003. Along with this came a new plan of promotion including an all new website and alot of contact making. The new contacts being made have helped the band to land more and more gigs including now in 2004 more out of town work. That leads us to the bands current status with plans of self financing thier first album release in later 2004. Plans for more shows and continuing to write thier own material. |
