Shannon "2P" Maggitt, the son of Darla Smalley and Darnell Maggitt was born on April 15, 1977 in the small town of Wynne, Arkansas where he was raised for the most part of his life, except for a few years in Newport News, VA, and Amarillo, TX while his father served in the military. 2P graduated from Wynne High in 1995 and attended college briefly at The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff until transfering to play basketball for Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould, AR. In February of 2000, his longtime girlfriend, Muna Aleem gave birth to thier first child, LaShawna Danielle Maggitt. The couple tied the knot in February of 2002, and in November thier second child, Jalen Cordell Maggitt was born. The family of four currently reside in Jonesboro, AR 2P started rapping at an an early age with his friends in elementary school. It was then when he entered his first talent show in the fifth grade. He has since than performed at many local shows and has six underground albums under his belt. 2P has been featured on other local artists projects, such as Soldier Boyz, Dirt Cheap, The Upperclassmen, and Playa Laid to name a few. 2P is proud to boast that after his second child was born, he hasn't used any explicit lyrics which was reflected on his last two albums, "Grown Folks Music" and "Grown Folks Music chapter 2". 2P has been interviewed on 101.9 in Jonesboro for being a weekly winner competition that they hosted. He has since then been heard on 105.3 in Helena, 88.3 in Little Rock, pump it or dump it on 92.3, and the hottest in the rock on 96.5, also in Little Rock. 2P is a name to listen for as his music continues to spread in the state of Arkansas! Check your local retail stores for music from 2P. Producing has always been a dream of 2P's. He put together his first home studio in high school with a keyboard and karaoke machine! Since then he has evolved to be one of the area's hottest producers. Other than producing his own tracks, 2P produced Playa Laid's entire album titled "Arkansas' Most Wanted". He also produced the upcoming local artist from Jonesboro Lil' Rob's album. 2P has done countless tracks for local artists in the area such as Dirt Cheap, Soldier Boyz, UTM, L.E.N, Kilo, Nature Boy, Bangin' B, and many more. 2P also records his own music, and other groups such as Peazy Baby and Deal Wit It.
