2ThumbzUp was born on October 11th 1985 in St. Louis, Missouri. Raised on the 4400 block of Newstead while being the only child of his single mother, the young star had to grow up faster than the average kid. Instead of studying after high school, Thumbz was forced to hustle to help his hard working mother pay the rent. So determined to escape the harsh realities of the inner city, his love for music grew at an early age as he participated in many public school talent shows and competitions. As a result to winning he was instantly crowned with the nickname “2ThumbsUp.” At the age of sixteen, he had already begun recording his first project with an independent production company. The young MC has been writing, recording and performing since the age of thirteen.
While putting in years of hard work, 2ThumbzUp has collaborated with a few well known artists and producers as well. The young MC has also opened up for headline hip hop acts such as Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Rich Boy and Bone Thugs N Harmony. He has been featured on a number of mixtapes that were released in various cities including Miami and LA. In 2004, he performed in the ‘04 Midwest Car Show which was sponsored by local television station WRBU TV 46 (UPN). Since then the up and coming artist has appeared and performed at the CORE DJ’S Hip Hop Conference and the Urban Network Summit. With a buzz in a few cities 2ThumbzUp has continued to remain consistent as he follows in the footsteps of the platinum selling mid-west artists before him. With the release of his Derrty DJ’s mixtape “Need I Say More” the future phenom is planning to expand his audience and build a fan base in different regions across the country. With an undeniable hunger, a melodic voice and charming charisma, ThumbzUp makes hits for the Billboard charts while satisfying the streets at the same time. As momentum of the street anthem “Can’t Be Serious” picks up, the young star looks forward to success as he makes a promise to hip hop fans that the best is yet to come! |
