3LW, also known as Three Little Women are no strangers to the game. With two full length albums and a Christmas album out and a remix CD in the works, these girls are headed straight for success. It's been a bumpy 3 years for them, but they're ready to show the world "A Girl Can Mack".
Originally, Kiely Williams, Adrienne Bailon and Naturi Naughton were seeing platinum status together. Tracks like "No More (Baby Ima Do Right)", "Playas Gon Play", and "I Do (Wanna Get Close To You)" is what grabbed the attention of many people all over the world. The girls were all over TRL with hit after hit. They also won Best New R&B or Hip Hop Artist and Album Of The Year at the 2001 Soul Train Lady of Soul Award.
Almost 2 years after their debut self titeld album "3LW" hit stores, the girls released their sophomore album "A Girl Can Mack". We chose the title because we wanted something really empowering," says Adrienne of the fall release. "It's just saying a girl can do anything a guy can do. Women in music are tearing it up." With great tracks such as "Neva Get Enuf" featuring Lil Wayne, "Funny" a song about how funny love can be, and "I Do (Wanna Get Close To You)" featuring the man himself, P Diddy, this album is definitely a banger.
A couple months before their sophomore album could hit shelves, the group experienced something they never thought they would... A break up. Naturi Naughton left the group. Many different stories were told as to why the break up even took place, and to this day no one knows the truth. That wasn't going to stop 3LW nor Naturi from doing what they wanted to do. Naturi went on to college, while the girls released their Christmas album "Naughty Or Nice". A good blend of pop/R&B sounding songs, with a little bit of hip hop mixed in. Something definitely to get anyone in the Christmas mood.
After doing a nation wide search for the new mack, the girls came out successful... as they welcomed Jessica to the group. Jessica "J" Benson made her first public appearance at the 2003 Soul Train awards. She fits right in with the group and chemistry is an obvious with the girls.
3LW are here and they aren't planning on leaving anytime soon. They just recently signed to Jermaine Dupri's label "So So Def" and are currently in the studio working on their 4th full length album featuring J titled "Pheonix Rising" (which also might change) due out fall 2004.
