Biography

The 69 Eyes is a dark band from Finland formed in the early 1990\'s. It\'s main symbol is the ankh and it has helped create the genre of \"Goth\'N\'Roll\". Its current members are; Timo-Timo and Bazie on guitar, Archzie on bass, Jussi69 on drums, and the lead vocalist Jyrki69. The singer Ville Valo of the band HIM, often does back up vocals for The 69 Eyes, and has helped to promote the band.

The 69 eyes originally had a very loud sound, somewhere between punk and horror flavored glam rock. They claimed to be influenced by bands such as Iggy and the Stooges and The Dead Boys. As time progressed though, their tone began to shift. By the time of their first international release in 1999, \'Wasting the Dawn The 69 Eye\'s had created their own unique sound, known as \"Goth\'n\'roll,\" by fusing Gothic melancholy and high-energy rock\'n\'roll into their works.

In Spring of 2000, The 69 Eyes released the single Gothic Girl which greatly changed the fortunes of the still obscure band. After months on the single\'s TOP 10 and the Finnish national radio\'s play lists, this single brought the band their first gold record.

After the success Wasting the Dawn and Gothic Girl, The 69 Eyes released the CD Blessed Be in September of 2000. The album rose straight to the number four spot on the Finnish Album Charts and its singles continued to jump straight into the top 10 in Finland earning them another gold record, and began to climb the charts in Germany as well.

Bam Margera ruined thier Lost Boys Video I've seen a couple of thier videos (Devils, Dance D'Amour, Gothic Girl) And The Lost Boys video just seemed... I don't know, a little too uppity and dancy. I know that they aren't a full blasted "We hate everything" Gothic band, but... they were dancing around and the thing Jyrki69 did with the bats... Just seemed out of place. But then again, I'm sort of a n00b with thier music videos, so I could be wrong. The parts imitating the Lost Boys movie was pretty cool.	MrVicVega

Bam Margera makes me sick. He helped to ruin His Infernal Majesty, but that band already had it coming after the success of Razorblade Romance in Germany, he mostly just made it worse, especially in America. He also killed Daniel Lioneye by using his song, King of Rockn'Roll as his show's theme song. And yes, he is now working his sick magic on the 69 Eyes, but I have a feeling they also had it coming after Devils which has progressed into a glammy sort of numetal (though I still like them). Paris Kills was their apex CD...no longer sleeze metal, but not quite numetal either. Good stuff. Bam Margera, besides attracting all the wrong fans to all the wrong bands is a terrible director. But he does it for free, so how could uprising bands like HIM or the 69 Eyes resist?	SyntheticxDreams

ok i don't see how Bam ruined any of it for the 69 eyes or HIM. He kinda brought their music to America...i mean i knew their music since i grew up in Finland for the first 5-6 years of my life and i loved the Lost Boys video so personally i don't see the problem	HIM_666
