7MJ is an energetic urban rock band that combines original and cover music with vast roots that include soul, motown, funk and of course Motor City Rock.
7MJ has been influenced by one of the widest music spectrums imaginable. The history of these players includes Rock, Soul, Opera, Motown, Funk, Metal, Classical, Reggae and Classic rock. This unique blend creates an unparalleled musical experience. Melissa received a bachelors in voice performance from Central Michigan University. She’s won Best Vocalist in SAI’s Music Competition and placed 2nd at two NATS Vocal Competitions. Growing up in a home surounded by musicians, Brandon's been a force to be reckoned with on the guitar since he was a wee tot. Brandon has played in numerous Detroit bands including, Plow and Misunderstood. Clint started playing drums at the tender age of 3. Clint spent his teen years studying under Larry Fratangelo (Aretha Franklin, George Clinton) and afterward earned a degree in Music Performance from Eastern Michigan University. Clint has performed with such greats in music such as Louie Bellson, Bobby Shew, and most recently motown's own Martha Reeves. Jake has played both guitar and bass for many Motown, R&B and oldies acts including The Contours (hit “Do You Love Me?”), The Marvellettes, Lou Christie and Mel Carter among many others. |
