Attracting attention ever since their inception in Guildford in 2005, {Satellite –State} recently made the final stages of the “3” Firstcut Awards competition as part of the 16 bands judged through from the 2000+ bands that entered. This, along with national Radio airplay from Radio One DJ’s Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens it appears the force driving {Satellite – State} is getting bigger all the time.
Wikipedia says a “satellite state” is "a political term that refers to a country which is formally independent but which is primarily subject to the domination of another, larger power". This summarizes {Satellite – State} perfectly: they wear their influences on their sleeves, yet produce life affirming, moving original music.
With their debut single and tour, planned for summer 2007, get on board now for it will be a fantastic journey.
