The members of Tegan have been making music together for the past 8 years or so although Tegan, in terms of style and lyrics, has been around almost a year now. They have grown, in terms of individual talent and overall tightness, remarkably in this time. From their first performance at the very professional venue of a home garage to venues such as the Glasgow Cathouse, they have come a long way, perfecting their own musical genre in the process.
When they first started out they went by the name Impakt which was quickly changed in a matter of weeks, to Busted.
This name stuck with Tegan for a while until it was noticed that another, more famous, band also had this title and so ofcourse a change had to be made.
It was agreed that Bust Up ED would be their new title after long thought and little progress, hence the similarity between the old and new names. This would prove to be their most well known name within their early success.
Another change was made eventually, a turning point had been reached in the band of Bust Up ED as the members wanted something fresh with new songs deriving from a new style. All songs were scrapped and it was back to square one for Unwanted Silence, effectivly a totally new band.
Most recently, we lost our lead guitarist Dave who wanted to follow his course at university, and so recruited a new member - Daryl. After some switching around we have settled as Tegan. |
