A were formed sometime in 1992 by Jason Perry (front man), Mark Chapman (Guitar) Giles Perry (Keyboard) Adam Perry (Drums) and Stevie Swindon (bassist). A were originally called "grand designs" but later changed there name to be first in the music books. A got signed in 1996 and releases their first album ,"how ace are buildings", in 1997. A went on constant touring to promote their debut album, however after they finished touring Stevie left A to go back to college. Luckily A manage to find a new bassist, Daniel Carter, and continued going strong. In 1998 A began recording their second album "A vs. Monkey kong" and released it in 1999. A found alot of success with their new album, touring in 27 different countries to promote "Monkey Kong" gain them many new fans. Next in 2000 they made a short live album called "exit stage right"for their fans. In 2001 A's Uk label was bought by Warner Brothers ,although, luckily A were kept on making it possible to record their 3rd album "Hi-fi Serious". This was completed 6th months later and released in 2002 along with the debut single "Nothing" which reached No.9 in the UK chart and is currently the bands most successful single, also released were "starbucks" reaching No.20 and "somethings going on". Later that year A recived the Kerrang "best british band" award and finished the year on a large tour supported ny Goldfinger. In 2003 A released "good time" and went to America to start work on their 4th album.
