A NEW DAY have been together since January 2002 gigging and writing our own brand of hard hitting, powerful, aggressive and melodic style Emo-Punk-Rock.
thanks for gaz for uploading those live track.
Our first recording was at the University of Glamorgan, Pontypridd where we recorded Rapid Fire. In November 2004 we hit the studio and recorded the No Names Mentioned EP. Having completed recording, our original guitarist DAN SCHMIDT hung up his guitar and new guitarist KYLE was recruited.
We believe in our future and our goal is to take our musical career as far as possible. Music should be a important part of everybodys lives: this isnt a hobby- it's our lives, and we all share a passion in producing our music to it's highest standard.
Our inspiration comes from bands ranging from 'the ataris' to heavier bands like 'rise against' and 'finch', however over the years of playing together & constantly writing songs we have adapted our own musical style and have fused together emo punk and rock to give us a much darker sound.
All music listed on this web page is of copyright of A NEW DAY. They were edited & mixed by A NEW DAY. We would also like to thank CELTICA RADIO for broadcasting the songs live.

A New Day * * * *
Oh what a lovely example of the current Cardiff youth music scene :-D. A New Day's Sum 41-esque trademark punk is simply brilliant. The key to AND I think is: take your 3 favourite bands from the recent 'Taste of Chaos' tour, blend them into a sludgey mix, and you've got it. There really is something for everyone in this band. On one hand, they're heavy and moody, but on the other, they're cheerful and quirky. What I personally enjoyed was lead vocalist Calum Fox's voice, which was strikingly similar to the frontman of Rise Against, veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrry cool:D. What's also cool is the way the drumkit is very dominant in AND's music. Martin Edwards really knows the score as he pounds the poor skins, leading the rest of the music on through it's every punk infused turn. Sadly for AND though, the audience numbers have slacked. It seems that the previous band's exploits have left everyone for dead, and a comparitively smaller number are still watching. A great shame, as AND really are giving it their all, and all we can do is hope they get an earlier slot next time around. Come back soon please :-D
