A Perfect Circle was formed by rock group, Tool’s, vocalist Maynard
James Keenan and former Tool guitar technician, Billy Howerdel. The
group, which is considered by critics to be an extension of Tool,
actually is not. A Perfect Circle is less dark than Tool. The group
focuses more on melodies and unusual instruments especially strings. A
Perfect Circle’s main fan base consists of young intellectual college
students. The group chose their name before the first show they played.
They picked A Perfect Circle from a line out of one of their songs.
The history of A Perfect Circle begins in 1996 when Tool released Aenima.
During this time, Tool was experiencing difficulties with their former
label; Freewood Entertainment. The battle lasted until 1998. At that
time, the band felt considerably tired and decided to take time off. It
was at this point that Keenan, Howerdel, and Paz Lenchantin formed A
Perfect Circle.
Keenan and Howerdel’s relationship dates back to 1992 when the two met
while Tool was opening for Fishbone. Howerdel was Fishbone’s technician.
Keenan played a few of his songs for Howerdel and the two discussed a
possible collaboration in the future. So, when Tool ceased in order to
take a break; the two did just that. Keenan is vocals, Howerdel is on
the guitar, Lenchantin plays the bass. After awhile, the trio recruited
former member of Failure and Enemy; Troy Van Leeuwen to play the guitar.
Josh Freese (former member of Guns N’ Roses and Vandals) plays the
drums. The group began rehearsing, but they decided to not go public.
Although there was no announcement of the newly formed group, rumors
spread and there was much anticipation for an album.
On August 15, 1999 the group had their first performance. They played at
Johnny Depp’s posh club, The Viper Room, in Los Angeles, California. A
Perfect Circle’s debut album, Mer de Noms, was released on May 23, 2000.
The album’s title is French for Sea of Names. The album has the highest
debut on the Billboard Chart (four) for a newly created band. Critics
call Mer de Noms phenomenal. The first single entitled, “Judith,” was
written by Keenan in one sitting late at night. Other singles from the
album are “3 Libras” and “Rose.” A Perfect Circle went on The Somersault
Tour in 2000. They joined artists such as the Foo Fighters, Smashing
Pumpkins, and Eve 6.
Shortly after touring with A Perfect Circle, Keenan re-convened with
Tool to create their album, Lateralus. The album was a hit in 2001. On
September 16, 2003 A Perfect Circle released Thirteenth Step. The album’s
first single was “Weak and Powerless,” During 2003, A Perfect Circle
toured.

The Truth Behind A Perfect Circle It's not a circle, though I'm sure everyone and their mom knows this. The deal is, APC know this as well.
"So what" ye say?
So what I'll tell you.
It's a very big act of disrespect for them to parade about with such a confounded logo and an inane title. It makes no sense in the least.
They know you know and I know they know you know and they now know I know that they know and we all know that everyone knows what is to be known!
I see through all the deceit, it's a very hairball operation they're pulling and I fully admit, it could easily be over anyone's head. Good thing I keep my ear close to the ground just for such reason. I hear this BS splattering in advance.
I've been researching these guys left and right, real tight.
I find it's all disregardable(them).
I've started up a site in the endless pursuit of truth, justice and the American way(the good one).
Join me, brethren, remove the scales from your eyes and support me.
Stop buying into the labels, stop buying into the money influenced ideals, stop buying into APC.
and by stop buying into APC, I mean stop buying their CD's. It's pishposh and maybe even a bit of poppy-cock. Knock it off, we shouldn't be subjected to lies, especially when clouded in an air of truth.
Anyone is welcome to help in any way possible.

Check around my site, you'll see a clearer view of what I'm saying... maybe, the site’s still young(I just finished this morning) and I haven’t gotten my views straight yet. I’ll need arguements for me to back up first.
To sum my site, I'm after an apology(public). It won't be a mere apology though, no sir. It'll be an atonement for their money grubbing ways.
It'll prove they're out for music, not just money, and I want to see this proven. If all they want is money, then the ideals they claim to base their songs and image(their characters, not the logo), the ideals and image APC fans respect, will be nothing more than a sham. The images and ideals, ideals and images, concepts and attitudes.... all blown to shit. I can't respect false icons, I feel they're false.
I need proof that it's not a lie.
APC, combat the evidence that so far outweighs your lies!

| you remind me of those little kids off apple jacks trying to get the dam things to tast like apples. | knife_party | When I hear a tune I think not of the money made by it but how it sounds and wether it is tolerable to my liking or not. APC is for the most part worthy of saying,"Hey they freakin sound good". So why shouldn't they make tons of money when they're songs are on the radio and naturally people are gonna go buy millions of cds. They may have sold their souls to the devil, or they may just be part of some huge musical conspiracy where there's subliminal messages in the music that tell us we like it when really we do not. Who cares. Apparently this guy does. Or maybe, just maybe, they were in the right place at the right time and certain people are jealous. I don't know it all, and I never will. Hollywood, you intrigue me because you seem to have the exact same opinion on this band as a friend of mine does on almost all new music. "It's all about the money! The titles! It's a sham!" Maybe someday we'll all know the truth about everything. | jenius | So you're basically trying to get us all to stop buying their albums because their logo is not actually a perfect circle?
Wow...just wow... | -47- | I agree with jenius, who cares as long as they sound good (and they sure do) | -47- | All I have to say is that the Apple Jacks comment was freakin hilarious!! thanks for the laugh:) | MasseuseGrl | Who cares if the circle isnt perfect. Its not the name that counts. Its what they sound. | Skanky | | APC is awesome! | lacunacoilfan15 | Hollywood, I had to read your post two times before I could even begin to comprehend the gist of what you're saying. A word of advice: Learn english. | seshat | Actually there is a perfect circle in their logo...the inner part of the first crescent and the outer part of the second...
yeah...that apple jacks thing was quite funny! | a7xroks | I recently bought a perfect circle shirt, but the circle on the front wasn't perfect at all. | Bgrotha | I have 2 APC shirts...and both are perfect on how I described it...last time I saw, aperfectcircle.org shows how it is perfect...if it's still there...haven't been to that site for about a year. | a7xroks | | Hello? | Soulcollect13 | Apc is just another band, the title is ment to be a metaphor or something like that. I like the music cause it is controversial, and truthful. | soad4ever | Actually the title of the band was chosen from their lyrics in "Orestes"..."Pull me into your perfect circle"... | a7xroks | | | |
