The 2005 release of their first independent record, Blend, garnered the Sheep enough attention to be voted among the top three new independent bands two years running in Vancouver’s foremost arts and entertainment paper, the Georgia Straight. They won the 2005 University of BC Battle of the Bands and beat out over 30 bands to win the Best Vocals prize at a Garfield Productions talent search in 2006. Three of Blend’s five tracks received spins CFOX, CITR, and CBC, and two are featured on independent film soundtracks. A Sheep at the Wheel also appeared on Vancouver’s Urban Rush TV show. They have opened for big acts like Finger Eleven, Edwin, and Wide Mouth Mason, and have played BC Place, the PNE Coliseum, and most of Vancouver’s top clubs.
A Sheep at the Wheel has honed and refined their catchy rock sound on their new record, Dreams and Debris. |
