| Abstract formed in September 2003, at a party in the basement of a friend’s house. Adam had just gotten his bass, Garret had been playing drums since March, and Tom had started playing guitar almost a year before. Adam and Garret had been planning on starting a band for some time, and after jamming with Tom, they decided they had found the right guitar player. They asked Tom if he wanted to start a band with them, and he did.
After about two months of practicing as a three piece, the band decided it was time to find a rhythm guitarist. They eventually asked and hired Riley Korol, a long-haired and excitable guitarist with a knack for humping Tom furiously. Riley played with the band for quite some time, but things didn’t work out, and in July of 2004, Riley parted ways with Abstract. He is currently playing bass with The Splits and guitar with Reality Check. The members of Abstract wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavours.
Immediately after Riley’s departure, Abstract found a new member, Kris Matheson. A fast and furious punk rock bassist, Kris fit in perfectly with the band and made a great bassist and vocalist, with Adam moving to rhythm guitar and vocals. Now, nearly a year later, Abstract is still together and writing. |
