| Studio album recorded in 1986 in Germany.
The Adicts first formed in 1977, starting out on a template of the Clash, Damned and Ramones. Soon they developed a catchy style of their own with sing-a-long choruses, together with an imagery borrowed from both Clockwork Orange and Pierrot. Vocalist Monkey’s theatrical antics made them an entertaining outfit, and they quickly gained a following their 1981 debut LP Songs Of Praise.
They signed to Sire via Razor, they issued two more albums and even graced the low end of the UK national charts. Flirting with changing their name to ADX for the mainstream market and adding keyboards, after a fallow period reformed and found new young audiences in America. The Adicts remain favourites with punk music fans after all these years. |
