Even though the name might not suggest it, afterMath is a band born in Dénia (Alicante, Spain) and was founded by it’s singer/songwriter Simon Daniel, and the guitarist Ruben, in the year 2003. Besides this fact, the only thing they had in common was to compose and play their own songs, and this lead them to produce a demo cd of a quality not expected from such a young group, and in such a short time.
Both musicians (summer 2004) along with the close collaboration of Marc Dasousa from “Atom” (producer / bass / keyboards) and Jaume Faraig from “Mr. Smoke” (drums), recorded a demo cd consisting of four tracks, which was finally mastered by Uwe Hoffmann (producer of the German band “Die Artze” and the Spanish band “Killer Barbies”) and Gordi Gerhart as sound technician.
The consequent additions to the band, Fran on drums, Kino on bass guitar and Matthias Coblenzer as second guitarist (all of them joining the band during the end of 2004/ start of 2005) made them achieve an even more compact sound, not to mention, music that goes even farther away from what our ears have been regretfully accustomed to hear. Also, after founding member Ruben left the group, David was incorporated as rythm guitar...and all in all, afterMath’s repertoire now extends to a 18 track set of interesting original songs (and one or two surprise covers!), full of anti lineal changes, which they have already demonstrated through many succeseful live gigs...Now, in the year 2006 afterMath prepares to cut their secound CD (signed or unsigned!) whilst still continuing to play gigs regulary...
