| Formed in 2001, Agathy is a three piece rock n’ roll band from southeast Kansas. 100 miles away from any music scene, members Chance, Chris, and Dustin spent the bulk of their first three years together writing songs and rehearsing in a spare bedroom at Chance’s house. In August 2004 Agathy proved the songs they were writing were top notch when they scored a top 200 hit on garageband.com’s independent music charts with the basement recording of their song “Runnin’ Along.” In the week of November 22, 2004 the band received “The Best Elevator Song in Rock” award from garageband.com for their song “Never” off their 2004 demo. Agathy continued to write songs and by 2005 they had already written over fifty original songs. 2005 was a big year for the band as they spent four months working with a national booking agency which helped them get their music out all across the Midwest. They also released their self recorded debut EP “The Room” and they shared the stage with Jive Record’s Grammy nominated pop punker’s Bowling for Soup. The shows kept coming in for the band as word spread of their great songs and their unbelievably energetic live show. In December 2005 the band went into the studio and began laying down tracks with long time producer Larry Brockway. With these songs Agathy has really grinded out a sound that can only be called their own. As for 2006 the band has already outsold their last EP in only a month and have booked tours covering the states of KY, MS, MO, KS, IA, SD, NE, TX, & CO! |
