Aiode is a long time project that has grown over time into a multi media endeavor. We are happy to be able to present new music continuously to anyone online and look forward to hearing input on all that we do.
Nick Russell and Chris Postill have collaborated on many forms or music and other arts over the past 7 years. Ranging from punk rock, gangster rap, comedy, electronic music, and hardcore, with various CD releases and films. Such collaborations are Ludian, DirtyBird Dancers, Anna and Her War Machine, The Gangsta Clan, No Cops, The Tempor Affinity; some of which involved other musicians (who were all nice, good looking people). The first Aiode CD was a side project to punk act, "The Dirty Bird Dancers" in 2003 and grew into a continuous endeavor. New music was always being thought about and composed, despite anything else that was going on in the world. With this concept of the new Aiode album being online and of no cost, the hope is to gain interest in the music, and to recieve feedback and support from those who deem it fit. We believe in closet music, not capitalism, or cops.
Chris Postill is currently studying New Media in Toronto On.
Nick Russell is Studying Music in Guelph, On.
Aiode music is created in a variety of ways drawing on both acoustic and electronic sources. We use synthesizers, drums, guitars, bass, percussion, voice, various computer applications (software synthesizers, sequencers and modulators), gather samples from the outside world and tamper with them electronically (musique concrete), Kaoss Pads and effects, goggles, gas masks and didgeridoo. All sounds heard on this website are original compositions.
We record and live in our sunlight deprived home studios, engineering and producing our own recordings.
