A.J. Jackson is a talented, singer/songwriter located in Denton, Texas. His voice has been referred to as "mesmerizing", "smooth", and "sexy". A.J.'s main vocal influence is Jeff Buckley. He started playing guitar at age 14, and has been writing and recording ever since. A.J. started out playing electric guitar and listening to many rock guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, and Yngwie Malmsteen. After a short stint in a heavy metal band at age 17, he began to focus on the acoustic guitar. A.J. also owned a small recording studio in the Dallas area and did engineering and production for many local artists. He recorded his first CD, an instrumental entitled, "Acoustically Speaking" during this time. His acoustic influences include Dave Matthews, Craig Chiquico, and Phil Keaggy. Recently, he has been busy writing, performing, and recording his most recent songs which will be featured on his upcoming CD. He has been on hiatus from touring, but is now enjoying playing various live venues around the Dallas area. He has enjoyed success opening for such artists as Austin favorite, Bob Schneider. A.J.'s previous instrumental CD, "Acoustically Speaking" was featured on the University of North Texas's radio show, "The Seed's Show".
