First of all, to avoid confusion, we think you deserve to know what the name is all about. It's actually the phonetic spelling of 'Aquilla' which is some mythical greek bird or something like that. Don't ask where it came from.
We're a group who, unlike alot of others, aren't pretentious about our music, we don't go for self gratification and don't use annoying excalamation marks all over our introduction!!!!
We are humble about what we do and, in between bouts of composers block, we work hard and long to get the best out of each song, we don't say our songs rival the great well known bands and we don't say we're the next Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix or Brandon Boyd, they are our idols and we aim for that but we only compare our material to our own past material to improve it, one by one until we really get it right. We pride ourselves on our original style, and even though we have alot of influences we mix them and make our own. We're no run of the mill Indie band, we like to think we're a much more diverse band with styles from Bossa Novas to Ballads with lyrics to match, which put our point of view across. This is our vision, to work every stage up and have fun at the same time, doing what we love (making funky music and acting like spoilt rock stars infront of our friends) - we can but dream.
Our influences: Incubus, Eels, Jamiroquai, Dr John, Maroon 5, Zero 7, The Zutons, The Verve, The Coral, Jack Johnson and alot of other blues, jazz, indie, rock and funk artists.

We all have fairly different tastes in music but the similarities we have all comes together in these (approximately) 4 minute sections of noisey chaos we call our songs, to form something that defines us. We hope you enjoy it, because we do and buy our E.P 'Lucky Man Lost' if you like it alot. |
