Alexander Lunev (Александр Лунев) is highly respected and is truly considered as a major contemporary Russian Composer producing unique and original pop-music, instrumental dance beats and funk, and movie soundtracks.
With 10 years of gigs, stage and jam-sessions under his belt and with commendations from globally reaching acts such as the Eurovision Song Contest where he secured 2nd place, MTV’s “Best Russian Act” and the Russian national “Best Song Of The Year” awards rubber stamping his astonishing rapid rise to the top is evidence enough.
Alex has developed his dynamically influenced fusion of sound through collaborative work with most pop-stars on the Russian musical Olympus, including mega-stars such as Baskov, Bilan, Kirkorov, Koldun.
His three songs topped the national charts for 22 weeks, a Russian record. One reached #15 on the European Airplay Top 100, and another - #82 on “Beyond Radio” World Latin Top 100. Eight of his songs were personally chosen by the fabulous Pink as a warm-up to her concert in Moscow last July.
With Alexander’s song, Dima Bilan won the MTV’s World Music Award 2006 hailed as “Best-Selling Artist” in company of such superstars as Nelly Furtado, Michael Jackson, Beyonce and others.
Paradoxically, despite his growing fame in some countries, Alexander remains relatively unknown globally, probably as a result of his songs being sung almost exclusively in Russian. Be that as it may, on June 12, 2006 Alexander Bard, the famous Swedish producer and creator of “Army Of Lovers”, extolled his namesake during a recent appearance on Russian TV and praised Alexander by saying: “Alexander is perhaps the brightest star on the Russian musical scene… his music is truly astonishing …”.
Alexander Lunev is worthy of catching the attention of a major record label, the poise, the prodigious skill, the music – it’s all there...
