I am originally from Groves, TX and at the age of two I moved with my mom to her fiance's house in a small town in Southeast Texas between Beaumont and Houston.
I was born to belt it out. I have been singing since I could talk. Being a singer has been my dream ever since I can remember. LeAnn Rimes was probably my biggest inspiration.
When I was a little girl I was shy and thought no one could hear me while I was in the shower, wrong! My mom always tried to convince me to get in front of people and sing and when I would say "no" she would say "What are you going to do after you make it? You can't tell people 'maybe next time.'" I finally got to the point where I wanted people to know I could sing. My dream, as well as my mother's, is to be known. My mom pushed me and I won star search when I was twelve. Unfortunately, my mom obtained breast cancer and didn't allow me to accept the record deal.
After I learned that my mom had cancer, everything went downhill; I stopped singing, my grades dropped in school and was having a hard time with my dad. Needless to say, things weren't going as planned. Then, my mom passed on my freshman year of high school, I was 14 at the time, and my life was falling apart. A couple of months later, I lost Nanny, my great grandmother, then I got my left thumb cut off in a four wheeler accident (by the way... I'm left handed) then, my great great grandmother died, who was 103 years old (born in 1900) and then my grandmother passed. I had a five generation family one day and two years later I had a one generation family. God, the little family I have left and singing are the only things that held me together.
