Alien Ant Farm's success in unquestionable. Their ability to write music is shown easily. They are quite a successful alternative rock band. Alien Ant Farm was formed in December 1995 by Dryden Mitchell (Vocalist), Terry Corso (Guitarist), Tye Zamora (Bassist), and Mike Cosgrove (Drummer). All four of them were bored with their lives so they formed a band, and became great friends. They performed little concerts at high schools, and made a small independent debut in 1999, called "Greatest Hits", which was a small collection of their best songs. Many major-label bands thought that this independent debut was amazing, and it was named the best independent debut of 1999.
Because of the small success of their independent debut, Alien Ant Farm was noticed by a band called Papa Roach. Papa Roach made a deal with Alien Ant Farm and helped them sign with Dreamworks records. Alien Ant Farm was very grateful to them. Alien Ant Farm began working on their major-label debut in early 2000. All of the bands who liked their independent debut couldn't wait to see how the major-label debut would turn out. Alien Ant Farm finished recording their major-label debut in January 2001. The released the album in March 2001, and they called it "Anthology". The first single from Anthology was called "Movies". It was immediately noticed by major-label bands like Blink-182, and Slipknot. Movies started the rage of people who bought the album Anthology. The next single from Anthology was the real rage starter. The next single was a alternative metal re-make of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal". The music video dominated Mtv and was very comedical. The video being on Mtv, and the song, being played on the radio constantly, is what caused a mob of people to buy the album. It was soon sold out almost everywhere. Alien Ant Farm's Success grew very large, and they were noticed even more.
Alien Ant Farm signed with Dreamworks Records again and began recording their second Major-label album, which they had entitled, "truANT". They wanted to put a lot of feeling and emotion into truANT so they took a while, recording it. truANT was released in August 2003. The first single, "These Days" Had an award winning music video, where Alien Ant Farm performed live in front of the B.E.T. awards, and they were watched by very famous singers like Nelly, and Lil' Kim. Dreamworks Records knew that the single, These Days, along with its video, would cause the album to go platinum, but they were ready, they printed triple the amount of copies they printed for Anthology, and still, the album sold out almost everywhere. The next single "Glow" was very noticeable, with it's great guitar riffs, and the brushes on the drum pads. The song was very noticeable, but the music video was even more noticeable. It was also somewhat odd, with the band in a small trailer, playing the song, and soon the objects around them come to life. Glow caused the truANT to sell out everywhere. It became a rare album to find. Alien Ant Farm then went touring for a year.
Very few people wonder why Alien Ant Farm is so successful. Many people can easily tell why Alien Ant Farm is so successful, because their success shows so much, because each member of the band is full of amazing talent!
