In July of 2004, four gorgeous best friends from two bands (War-On-Salt and False Pretense) "got together" with goals of making something fresh & new to them and the world. After jamming together and simultaneously embracing various styles of "music", The Allstar Funk Four was born (conceived). Their sound has been described as a mixture of Pop, Funk, Hip-Hop, Rock & Punk and various other styles which has proved a winning mix amongst fans. Their sound is such that it continues to evolve as new styles of music are embraced by it's four iconic band members. It allows freedom of expression for these four talented friends and those who don’t fear dancing to it. The Allstar Funk Four have achieved numerous accolades in their short time on the scene. They won 2005's "Last Band Standing" Battle Of The Bands which is apparently an achievement as well as having played with Bed On Bricks, Love Jones, Fokofpolisiekar, Taxi Violence & many other great SA bands. In Early 2006, The Allstars released a 5 track EP entitled "Party Rocking". The single “Party Rocking” became a hit on campus radio across South Africa & was number 1 on SAMP3 for three weeks. June 2006 saw the band filming their debut music video for the single "Party Rocking". The video has enjoyed ‘endless’ air play on South African TV and is still currently on Rotation on MK89. They are self-obsessed and will be filming many new videos for the new CD, “Control Alternative Delete” mainly just to see themselves on TV again. At this moment in time The Allstar Funk Four have just finished up in studio with their first full length album "Control Alternative Delete". It was launched on the 11th and 12th of May 2007 with great success and must be purchased right now…unless of course you don’t have good taste in music…
