When her first album titled "Not That Kind" exploded through Europe, the critics and her public knew Anastacia was here to stay. Anastacia Newkirk, better know by only her first name, is a little lady with a beautiful voice which shine throughout her three albums. Born in New York and moved into Europe, Anastacia's success is far more than luck.
Writing all of her songs with producer Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette) or Ron Fair (Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas), she is into an interesting era with new music and a fresh sound. She said: “I challenged myself both lyrically and melodically to stay true to those feelings and at the same time use them in a positive way." Then, the second album "Freak of nature" was released.
In January of 2003, Anastacia confirmed to the world that she had breast cancer and for a brief moment it all stopped. But true to herself and to those around her, she showed that she would not be deterred from doing what she loved. She kept on fighting against sickness, then filmed her music video for "Love Is A Crime" on the Academy Award winning-movie, "Chicago". Now, her third full-lenght studio album which is eponymous includes the smash singles "Left Outside Alone" and "Sick and Tired".
A true prodigy which shows the whole words that dreams can collide with reality. |
