| Award-winning Montreal Symphony clarinetist André Moisan returns with Fantasiestücke, his seventh ATMA CD, which includes the world premiere recording of a sonata by Josef Rhienberger. Known for his consummate mastery of the instrument, Moisan has chosen to complement the Rhienberger with romances of the German Romantic period by von Weber, Schumann, von Sachen-Meiningen and Reinecke. He is joined by pianist Jean Saulnier, also his partner on the critically acclaimed 2005 ATMA recording of sonatas by Brahms and Jenner.
Also known as a conductor, Moisan celebrates the 30th anniversary of his professional career during the 2007/2008 season, when he will be a guest conductor with the orchestras of Québec and Hamilton, and guest soloist with Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal under Kent Nagano. |
