| "Git-R-Done!" is a quote that was made famous by United States comedian Larry The Cable Guy.
Well if you consider those words, than Hampton, Virginia native Dj Infection is gettin-r-done. Starting way back in 1999 when he released his first single "Club" under the Streammaker Production label, he never thought he would see the light of day in the music world.
That is until 2003, came along and Andrew Townsend (Dj Infection), acquired Streammaker Productions and begun the label Escovator Records. Having re-risin his debut single "Club" from the grave he set to to become something that every other African-American didn't and disapproved him for - a world-class electronica artists. Having made his 1st LP "Assistance Required" (which featured "Club", but tanked in sales) he decided to re-study. Studying the works of such masterminds like "Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold , Depeche Mode and Paul Van Dyk", 2004 he release by most people his most popular song to date "Warning". Seeing the success the song was getting (even getting club play in Southeastern VA, and parts of England, Denmark, Germany, Spain, and Russia), he released "Nu Sessions w/Dj Infection" he would have been 2nd LP... it tanked to the point he stopped production. Seeing his single success not making album success any good, he turned his attention to fellow rock band The LoD Project, having been in the band for 5 years he created their debut single "Enter The Madness" which featured Unwholly at vocals, seeing his rock status was on key, he released an EP entitled "1999: The Album" which featured tracks unreleased and the re-emergence of "Warning" as an album track.
The beginning of 2005 is shaping out to a good time for Dj Infection, with Escovator Records and his own popularity at an all-time high, and unfortunately having to cancel his "Digital Nights Tour", he started to work on his second full-length album "Door To Tommorow" which is slated to be released later this year. His current new single "Oddessy" (slated for a April 22nd release date) will show a sort of Jungle-House side of Dj Infection music..
Only time will tell if he is mention with the greats of Electronic & Dance, but for now he will happily take "One of those USA Techno artists, that's 'getting-r-done' |
