With groups like Anointed Remnant Delegation professing the gospel of Jesus Christ; God's ability shows forth inside and outside of the church. Heads always turn when people see how young, excited, and determined this group is, when the opportunity presents another time to win souls over for the Lord. A.R.D.'s music is bold and original, exemplifying special gifts that can only be given from up above. If you wonder what motivates them, be sure to listen for the goodness of Jesus Christ expressed through the songs that they sing, which unmistakably interprets how unashamed they are to be completely sold out for Christ. Through the devine leadership of the Holy Spirit, God put together a music ministry that, which no man ever could. With songs that captivate the mind and musical expressions that warm the soul, the world will have no choice, but to take off the boundaries that they have set around the shape, color, and sound of traditional Gospel music.
Birthed out of the very heart of God’s bosom, A.R.D. began through the eyes of musician and co-founder Will Brown Jr. back in May 2001, in the city of Newark, N.J., where he grew up. Through God’s grace and much prayer, the dreams of a young church boy would soon come to pass.
The original group started out with just one tenor, alto, and soprano in each section, with Will Jr. on the keyboard, traveling and singing as “Remnant of God.” Through faithfulness and dedication, the development of the ministry would go as the Holy Spirit would lead them. The group continued to grow and later introduced its additional group leader, musician and songwriter, Ian Johnson, and in Jan. 2002, the group’s name officially changed to “Anointed Remnant Delegation.”
As time passed, the membership of the ministry fluctuated, yet A.R.D.’s spirit remained the same. With fourteen members presently, the group is comprised of three altos: April, Danielle, & Aminah, four tenors: Ian, Will Harris, Anthony & Marcus, along with three sopranos: Martine, Diane, and Quinta. Their musicians include the talents of The Jubal Family Tree, which presently features musical director and bass guitarist- Sean Robertson, with the awesome beats of Windel & Shakur on drums, and the incomparable musical crafts and talents of Aaron McZorn, (who can play almost anything you put in front of him).
A.R.D. has traveled and performed all over the tri-state area, including parts of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. They have also performed on the same programs with recording artists such as: Lorraine Stancil, James Hall, Danny Eason, S.O.P., the Gideon Band, Youthful Praise, Tyrone Tribbett & Greater Anointing and Shae Norman and A New Covnant. In the summer of 2002, they received great accolades for winning 1st placement, in the Great Adventures annual Soul Brothers Production gospel competition, during a collaboration with Andre’ Witcher and the Levite Generation. The theme park crowd dazzled as the group performed as the opening acts for gospel greats Yolanda Adams, Tonex, and Kurt Karr & the Kurt Karr singers that same evening.
A.R.D. has been on a mission to save the unsaved, and to share the gospel wherever it is needed through the gifts of music ministry. They have been included in countless youth revivals, youth conferences, and anniversaries, up to and not limited to events for the awareness of Diabetes, held by the Diabetes Foundation.
