Born in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain), Anvil of Doom start their history in 2002, when after several years of underground activity and line-up changes, they recorded their first demo, "Died before Dawn". This demo was followed by a series of gigs around their country, which allowed the band to improve their live shows.
In April 2003, Anvil of Doom signs for Xtreem Music. Before entering the studio to record their first album, they keep on playing: supporting Barón Rojo, the mythical Spanish Heavy Rock band; opening the Xtreem Music Festival in Madrid, with Nuclear Assault, Exodus, Grave, Mortician and Occult; and in Broken Head Festival in Córdoba with Avulsed and Kevlar Skin.
In January 2004 begins the studio sessions for their fist album, "Deathillusion", at "Wykyn 'n Morkin" Studios, where they recorded their demo as well. This album includes nine tracks that reflect an evident evolution to a more technical Death Metal, but keeping the melodic touch that identifies the band.
After recording and mixing, the band gets back on the road: Egarrock, with My Own Gravity and Ilegales, in Cabra (Córdoba); in La Fuente del Maestre (Badajoz), sharing with Sphynx; in The 13th Question festival, in Sevilla; at El Tren in Granada; and in Alhama Metal Madness, with Scarve, Arkhon Infaustus and Pungent Stench.
Anvil of Doom have been reviewed and interviewed in several radio shows, e-zines and magazines, remarking Hell Awaits, the most important magazine dedicated to extreme metal in Spain.
