Astral Navigations were formed the UK in 2005. Since forming they have DJ’d and performed live around London and the Home Counties at numerous clubs and events. Their new E.P. called 'Bullets and dead babies' is available exclusively at Herb Recordings (www.herbrecordings.com)
Their first release was the haunting ‘First into space, last down to breakfast’, which was released on Dive Records. This was part of the Dive Compilation series.
This was rapidly followed up with the release of their first E.P., the ‘Stuck inside a toy’ E.P. on Bumpfoot records. Bumpfoot is a Japanese Netlabel and Radio Station run by the Japanese artist Tatsu, who also releases on the label. The 4 track E.P. features classic tracks such as ‘Synaesthesia’, ‘Shake The Tree’s’, ‘Self Harm Song’ and the title track ‘Stuck inside a toy’.
After this came the stomping ‘Driving when I shouldn’t’ E.P. This features the tracks ‘A kleptomaniac stole my heart’, ‘Driving when I shouldn’t’, ‘Not Entirely Honest’, ‘Looking down on mother earth’ and ‘Tell the world I’m sorry’. Both E.P’s have had over 500 downloads and featured on Pulse Radio and Shinebox radio. The ‘Driving when I shouldn’t’ E.P. has also had tracks featured on Sports Programs for American TV NESN, the largest station in New Jersey.
Astral Navigations produce chill out music, best listened to when either hung over, stoned, drifting between sleep and consciousness - or best of all, when in all three of these states of mind. If you understand what Kandinsky meant when he said one should be able to ’hear’ pictures and ’see’ sound, ie interchangeable sensations, Synaesthesia, then you will have a good idea of where Astral Navigations are coming from.
