Audioslave is a band formed by the Ex-Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, drummer Brad Wilk, and bassist Tim Commerford plus the howling voice vocalist guitarist Chris Cornell in the year 2001 after former frontman of Rage leaves the band and Soundgarden has been disbanded in April 1997.
In December 2000 former vocalist of Rage Against the Machine Zack De La Rocha leaves the band after the release of their album Renegades because of their decision-making are not working out and to pursue a solo career and the three ex-ragers still have the ground to continue their music even without a frontman. There was a humor that the frontman of the band cypress Hill will take the vacant position that Zack had leaved but it doesn’t been accurate to their style. After a year the band long time friend and producer Rick Rubin meet with them Chris Cornell whose probably searching for a band in that time. The other ex-ragers plan to make a jam with Chris who they do not know at all.
When they start to jam the three ex-ragers are amuse of the voice of Chris Cornell and they just composed their first song in the Studio titled “Light My Way” currently the number thirteen track of their album. After months of jamming with Chris Cornell they end up forming the band and they named Audioslave but there are another band who came up with the name but they soon get the right for the name, but before finishing the album Chris has suddenly leaves the band without any notice to his bandmates, and after three months of disappearing he joined again the band and they finished their album self titled album and released in November 19, 2002 produced by their friend Rick Rubin under Sony Epic Records. With their first major release “Cochise” has conquered the air in rock charts and other major charts Audioslave is a new type of band that mixes Grunge and Techno metal in one. And as I sad it is a new band this is not Rage Against the Machine and certainly not Soundgarden.
