Autodrone formed in early 2002, based on a mutual love of dream pop and early 90's Brit Rock. Seamlessly wrapping the sonic dynamics of creamy bass lines, jagged synths, undulating guitars and panting vocals into a warm pop blanket, Autodrone successfully walk where few have dared tread before.
Autodrone has steadily been playing all of the hip New York City parties and rock clubs (The Mercury Lounge, North Six, Bowery Ballroom etc.) for over a year now. In the fall of 2006, they will release their first CD for Big Bit of Beauty Records, "Panic" with plans for heavy promotion and marketing and touring. A remix CD will be released shortly thereafter.
Autodrone has shared the stage with diverse bands such as: MORNINGWOOD, THE FEVER, THE TWENTY-TWOS, WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY, RAINER MARIA, SONIC BOOM (of Spacemen 3), CRYPTOPSY, GOD FORBID, DIRTY ON PURPOSE, SERENA MANEESH, MATT & KIM,SCANNERS UK and THE CLOUD ROOM.
Press for Panic:
"Panic, while giving the finger to conventional standards of popular music, manages to be just as infectious as the most contrived pop sensations" - AltSounds
"The EP is one of the best of the year" - AbsolutePunk
"Noise-pop cum dance punk is the recipe that Autodrone has found all the ingredients for. Loud and melodic female vocals grip you from
start to finish with pulsing bass grooves and atmospheric synths leading the way. The New York City based quartet has the New Order-esque dance rhythms down while the gothic tinged lyrics recall
the Cure. But there's plenty of punk vibes to get your heart pumpin'. " – smother.net
Rachel Luria follows the crescendo immaculately, beginning with a sweet but raw whisper ... Then she breaks into the chorus, belting out the lyrics at full strength as if her life depended on it. Mix that
with a catchy melody and danceable beat, and you have a potent combination. " - BlogCritics
