| I got my first burgundy SG from the Villa Plaza Music store in the late 70's. I was playing in Tacoma with bands and was always changing songs around, or writing originals. We played at the Top Hat, and Back Forty alot opening for bands like the Seales Brothers and Robert Cray. In 1979, I financed our demo at a studio called Kaye Smith in Seattle. At that time it was the only way to get a good demo. The best thing that came out of that was meeting Steve Miller and Ann & Nancy Wilson, who were all recording their albums there too.In the early 80s,I was playing in band called the "Smoldering Remains" with Charlie Phelps from Minn. after being turned onto Generation X and Television. In the late 80’s I met Scott McCaughey, who was working at a record shop called Cellophane Square in Seattle’s University District. He had just put out a LP with his band the Young Fresh Fellows and playing the LP at the store. He encouraged me to pursue my songwriting.I have been ever since … Today I am still writing songs and recording. Seattle producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Hot Hot Heat) recently mastered my 3rd cd in 2004. It’s called Bar Chords and Wasted Time. |
