| Aviation Zero really started out in the fall of 2000. The band was called The End and it consisted of four guys: Derek Fay, Chuck Uber, Cameron Mullins, and Jake Haines. Well after a while they decided to pull Jake from Drums and find a more permanant fixture behind the set. And so happened that Cameron noticed a kid at school with drumsticks hanging out of his back-pack (Dan Hernandez). Cameron approached him and asked if he was interested in trying out. Dan was in another band that was going nowhere fast so he decided to try out. Dan really suprised them and he was asked to be the 5th member of The End. They played for about 8 months and Recorded a 5 song Demo. After musical differences and each one of them wanting to take the band a different direction; it left Chuck, Derek, and Dan together. They started fooling around and playing here and there but nothing really came out of it. Chuck and Derek went to go play in a band called Misled that played a few shows and recorded a demo. Dan went to go play in a band called Sprague, which Chuck sang for, and then a band called Korova. Finally, Dan was out of the music scene and ready to just do his own thing when Derek and Chuck had started a band called Aviation Zero with Andrew Batstone as the bass player and Tyler Mahurin as the Drummer. Well Tyler wanted to move on and play in a different styled band which left the drums to be filled. At that time Derek and Chuck called Dan up one day to only be surprised with Dan's eagerness to get back into the swing of playing in a band. After that the rest just fell into place. They started to get a following after recording a 5 song Demo and went on playing shows all over Southern California and Arizona. Following comming back from Arizona they really couldn't get back into it and some poor decisions started being made and finally they were on a break. Dan left to Texas to work for the summer and he get s a call saying "man are stuff is better than ever and we have shows booked so get ready." Aviation Zero is back stronger than ever and ready to take on the world. Are you ready? |
