| Great music starts with great vision. Passion, originality, and creativity keep the focus of awaywithfear, not on writing for an audience, for a part in “the image,” or any promise of potential success, but a satisfaction of authentic creativity, a pride in personal originality, and a culmination of musical passion in performance. Matt Troup, Tim Brown, Joe Wolanin, and Dave Bunt are all currently college students at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Each of them has been playing since the sophomore year of high school. Every member has had former band experience, but had been waiting for the unavoidable opportunity that awaywithfear created when the group met back in March. Although young, their talent for writing and performing, their energy and intensity for the stage, and their commitment to success are the overwhelming impressions left by awaywithfear.
