Biography

Baby Bash was born in Vallejo, California in 1975. He got his nickname, Beesh, from friends because of the Mitsubishi he drove. His fans also call him bash or Beesh. Baby Bash’s mother was from Mexico and his father was Anglo. His father, who became addicted to heroin, abandoned the rapper when he was a child. Growing up, Baby Bash alternated between dreams of being a rapper or a professional basketball ball. He eventually opted for rapper due to the fact he is too short for professional basketball. Growing up, his uncles exposed him to many different types of musical genres. His grandma, who raised him, did the same. Prior to pursuing a solo career, Bash performed in the groups Potna Deuc and Latino Velvet. His career began to rise when he went to visit Houston, Texas. Baby Bash loved Houston. He admired the city’s great following of local artists. He also liked how everything in Texas was considerably cheaper than anything in California. Thus, he decided to re-locate. Baby Bash’s debut album entitled Savage Dreams was released on the independent label, Dope House in 2001. The single, “Suga Suga,” was an instant hit in Texas. The acclaim Baby Bash received soon caught the attention of Universal Records who signed the artist later that year. IN 2003, Baby Bash released his debut major label album, That Smokin’ Nephew. The single, ‘Suga Suga,’ was re-released and has become a national hit.
