An Original '70's Band! Yes, if you look on the net, you will see numerous bands with the same name, but we have yet to find one that can go back as far as this group. Formed in the mid 1970's, the group performed throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Playing everything from high school dances, college parties to biker parties. Most of the members were in high school but still the band played roadhouses like the Shindig (since tore down), Barefoot Charlies(since burned to the ground) and The Barn (also, burned to the ground) and numerous others, conditions unknown.
Famous for their pyro-technic show....they once burned a hole through the floor of the High Roller Skating Rink, Weston, WI. Luckily they stayed out of jail and all the members continued to perform in everything from country music, to rock, to jazz, to blues. The group took an 18 year break starting in 1979 but later started performing again in 1997 for the first of many Rock & Roll Revival concerts in Central Wisconsin all with the original members. The group released a cd of live music and can be heard on complilation cds and are featured on John Altenburgh's cd "Christmas at Buzz's Restaurant." In recent years the group has been featured at the Whoo Ha Festival, Baraboo, WI, Party in The Park, Stevens Point, WI, Rock & Roll Revival concerts (numerous)Wausau and Schofield, WI. Also, for their Mosinee High School Centenial celebration.
2006 marks the 30th anniversary of this group....at least we think it does. As they say...."If you can remember the
'70's, you weren't really there." Actually I think they said that about the '60's....we can't remember then either. |
