| Bad Mood Zeus was formed in early of 1990 by Neal Nassano (bass), Joel Newman (guitar), Mark (Vox), and Chad Farran (drums). Influenced by early progressive rock (Rush, Yes, etc) and rock bands of that period (Janes Addiction, Robin Trower, etc), BMZ took a blend of it all and created a sound unique to their own.
The band was know for it's extended jams, odd times, and balls to the wall rock and roll. After playing a series of clubs and parties, the band broke up, and re-formed a year later by founding members Neal and Chad with the addition of Jimmy Lewis on Guitar.
Jimmy brought his own sound adding a ripping guitar sound and unparalleled vocals reminiscent of early Zeppelin and Free. The band released a CD on their own Superunloader Records, toured the West coast and climaxed with a show at the Sports Arena in San Diego opening for legends Santana and Dylan.
The band seemed to be on its way to sucess when internal problems caused the permanent disentigration of Bad Mood Zeus. Jimmy and Chad stayed together and formed Superunloader with the addition of Chris McGreal on bass. |
