Bad Uncle Sam
The Story
The Multi Award winning band “Bad Uncle Sam” was born in 2000 with original Members Dave Powell, Ed Lynch and Brett Asquith. The Band practiced long and hard to get the metal thing going and to get the boys out on the scene, but they went through a lot of trials and tribulations to earn their stripes…. Lynch and Powell were the two that constantly stuck it out when they lost drummers, singers and support. They replaced Asquith with Jim Thomas and continued to plow onward with Powell carrying the vocals until they found the perfect guy for the role of front man. All they needed was a front man that could sell the energy their music produced. They heard about D. Wyckoff former front man of the band “Schyster”, who is notorious for his wildly energetic stage presence and electrified vocals and then they topped it all off with guitar phenom, Juan Canteli, this perfect combination of Brotherhood, High Energy Music, extremely energetic stage presence and a knack for writing catchy tunes has catapulted B.U.S to Local Fame that is now reached past the boundaries of NY,NJ and PA… The boys are currently recognized as the Highest Ranked Unsigned Metal Band in the country according to unsignedtalents.com… …One can’t help to think… if these guys can make this much of an impact on the music world as an indie band…what could they accomplish with a label?
If you've ever seen Bad Uncle Sam Live ....then you already know what these guys bring to the stage RAW UNHARNESSED ENERGY. These guys are known litterally all over the world with fans as far away as the UK and Australia...They are currently in the Studio in NJ making the final touches on the new CD “Mission of the Fist”.

Local Heavy Metal Band “Bad Uncle Sam” Recently took first place in the NJ State fairs Second annual Tri-state battle of the bands. 178 Rock bands From NY, NJ and PA entered the battle. The bands were judged by a crowd of nearly1500 people and by music industry professionals, such as Elizabeth Porocco East Coast Marketing Director for Clear Channel radio and Rob Ryan DJ for 103.7 WNNJ New Jersey Radio. The battle was sponsored by Clear Channel Radio, WNNJ and Ritchie’s Music and was hosted by Rock Jock Ken O’Brian of WNNJ. The Bands were judged on crowd reaction, Stage presence, crowd interaction, musicianship and quality of song. Bad Uncle Sam took the stage and owned it from the moment they walked on to the last song of the encore set. B.U.S won second place last year in the first annual battle and gained a lot of new fans in the process.
The band continued to tour NY, NJ and PA vowing to win it the next year, unfortunately they lost lead guitarist Edward Lynch to the responsibilities of life and a new child. They replaced Lynch with 19 yr. Old Lead guitarist Juan Canteli and re-entered the scene. Canteli brings an aggressive grace to the band that is already notorious for energetic stage presence and a “ Melodic retro-aggressive” Metal Sound. Front man D. Wyckoff says of the experience at the battle “It was Awesome Man, 1500 screaming people that had never known us before the battle, voted us #1… Last year we won the crowd, but not the crown this year we did both’’ The band was contacted after the battle by Jeff Zocoli East Coast tour manager for Infinity Artists International www.infinityartists.com. The band signed exclusively with Infinity Artists International and will begin a more aggressive National tour at the end of this year. Tesla, Drowning pool, Sebastian Bach and 38 special are some of the other artists represented by IAI.
