| B.C. Ragtime used to be called ELF. ELF was initially started as a thrash/punk conspiracy. The original brainchild was concieved by Ryan and Nick back in 1999. We figured it would be interesting to have a grab bag at shows, fans would stick thier arm into a barrel of kitty liter for $5 and pull out a piece of merchandise. Who knows, maybe they could get something really cool like a slightly used t-shirt, warped seven-inch, maybe even a handful of cat shit. Sounds innocent enough, but what about the band? After many talks, and years of a forgotten dream, ELF grouped in the summer of 2003. The original line-up was Ryan on vocals, Nick and Tim playing guitar, Dru on keyboard, and Turbin on drums. After a lot of alcohol consumption Tim eventually left the group and Dru steped up into the ranks of ELF guitarists. Dru having just learned guitar (teamed with Matt and Nick far out of practice since the days of Page Ten), it was obvious that he was the best man for the position. These were the four fine gentleman of the Ethiopian Liberation Front. Fueled by Schlitz, drunk on love. ELF continued to practice at the carnage house until August of 2003 when they took a leave of absense. After many months of absolutely nothing, all fines and court fees were eventually paid off. Matt allegedly moved to Florida, so a new drummer was needed. March of 2004 Nick and Ryan set out to put the band back together. We picked up Porkchop whom we've known for a while, and are almost ready to rock the house. All prayers will be answered when we buy a couple of amps and we will once again be able to play for the beautiful people. This time, of course, as B.C. Ragtime. We are also waiting and working on a set of 4 (count 'em 4) EP's to be released at the first show (if not before.) EP's will feature many guest appearences, as well as some of the fastest, sloppiest, tone-def punk rock ever recorded. Cause we keep's it real like that. —BCR Ypsilanti, Belleville, K-zoo, Chicago, Kentucky, Florida, Hawaii.... |
