Why is a band from North Carolina ranked #1 in Europe? Big Bus Dream has topped the charts at Soundlift.com, a popular European site, in the Acoustic Pop and Psychedelic Rock genres.
Imagine quirky Psych-Folk with a blast of Pop sensibility thrown in for good measure or, if you’d like to put a face on it - a union between Bob Dylan and Radiohead. Yikes – that’s a picture worth more than a 1000 words.
How about Lou Reed strolling in the night, down a cobblestone street with the Fab Four in tow. Sweet.
The Big Bus Dream is for listeners who think about life, lost love…while running head-on (w/o a helmet), arms stretched overhead, quietly screaming into the hazy craziness the world throws at all of us. It is about loss, but never about giving up.

In 2000, Mike Shannon wrote, played and sang on 4th Ward’s first release.
"The album of the day. Imaginative and well crafted", wrote Dominick Miserandino of Celebrity Cafe. Creative Loafing's Tim Davis referred to the group's tunes as being "original without trying to be trendy."
Shortly after that release, Chick Tsikouras joined 4th Ward and co-wrote and recorded with Mike on their 2002 release “Wonderland”. 4th Ward played throughout the region - opening for Hootie and the Blowfish and Angie Aparo.
