What’s next? The question remains the same for this Shreveport, La. born, and Texas raised rap artist. From the young age of eight at Dyess Elementary School, Deuce shined through with a rap for the "Just Say No" rallies. He placed second to the best in that contest but vowed to never come in second again.
His passion comes from the heart and his lyrics flow from the mind. His cousin D.J. Train, of the former group JJ Fad, inspired him. Train took him to concerts to meet well-known artist such as Run D.M.C., Salt n’ Peppa, D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, and also king of the mic himself L.L. Cool J. The light of the stage blinded his eyes but made his vision stronger for the rap game. Train felt this young buck was ready but needed to smooth out the edges. Deuce was ready to break though but fate took his cousin in a treacherous fire. That same fire that burned his cousin now blazes a trail to the rap game. The drive moves on and the hunger increases as the years go by, and during these years he grew stronger in verse and determination.
Still pursuing his education he finished college and earned a bachelors degree in business finance. While believing the children are the bases of our future, Deuce chose to invest by becoming a Middle School teacher and coach. His career provided one, to make a difference and two, to pay for his dream. Deuce just recently performed in Los Angeles, Ca. at the B.B. King House of Blues for a showcase in front of Ruthless Records, Death Row, Dream works, Joe Jackson, and many more. Deuce also performed at club Swaveymente’s freak fest, and has had nine previous night club performances. The South Route Boyz are proud to say that at the showcase they caught a lot of the label’s interest. Deuce's hunger is getting stronger and only the bountiful industry will suffice.
