The Big Tymers consists of Cash Money records co-founder Bryan ‘Baby’ Williams and Cash Money Records producer, Mannie Fresh. In the early 1990s Fresh and Williams met. The two, along with Williams’ brother, Sugar Slim Williams, created Cash Money records. The label, which is based in New Orleans, Louisiana is looked upon as being in the top for independent labels focusing on Dirty South and Southern hip-Hop music. In the company, the two brothers focus on business relations, while Fresh is the in-house producer. The group released their debut album, How You Luv That? In 1998. The album sold well in both the Southern United states and the Mid-West. In 1999, the album was released under the title, How You Luv that?, Vol. 2, after Cash Money made a national distribution deal with Universal Records. The albums featured every rapper on the label. This was good because it was no secret that the members of Big Tymers were not exactly the best rappers. The albums featured artists such as, Juvenile, BG, Lil’ Wayne, and Turk. After the release of the latter album, Big Tymers worked on perfecting their rapping and songwriting skills. In 2002, they released I Got That Work. The singles, “# 1 Stunna” and “Get Your Roll On,” did very well. In 2002, Big Tymers released Hood Rich. The album contained the singles, “Still Fly” and “Oh Yeah.” The following year, Williams released a solo album under the pseudonym, Baby. Also, Juvenile left the label, leaving Big Tymers to be the most consistent group in record selling on the label.
