Black Gun Barrels' sound has been influenced by different styles of rock, but has been defined by none. From power ballads, to punk, and everything in between, but the most noticeable attribute in BGB's songwriting must be the sweet and sour vocals and lyrics in forms of metaphors and analogies with that classic sound of alternative rock.
Black Gun Barrels was founded in 2003, by vocalist/guitarist ,Otto Masaya. Soon after guitarist ,K. F. was added to B.G.B.'s line up. The fall of '03 and winter of '04 was spent writing the songs of B.G.B.'s first demo CD. The winter/spring of '04 was spent in the studio, recording what would become Autopilot.
Oddly, B.G.B. has struggled since the beginning, with the desertion and addition of new band members until recent times. The summer of '04 brought both, hope and change to B.G.B. First off, the addition of a new bass player, Aaron Henderson. Aaron has contributed to improve the rhythm section and the overall live sound of the band. The long awaited recruitment of the newest, last but not least, and final member of B.G.B. Drummer Felipe Phillips, a Seattle native, has come to complete and unify BGB's line up.
Black Gun Barrels has achieved to complete their first Demo CD, Autopilot, produced by Otto. and the completion of their Web Site, designed by K. F.. Hoping to gain a well deserved recognition and complete the band's line up, Black Gun Barrels is currently playing in the Washington DC area.
B.G.B. was struck yet again with another loss, guitarist K. F.. He contributed to improve the band in many aspects, until the day of his departure. The old website design has been replaced for a newer, simpler design. B.G.B. has become a trio and will keep experimenting with new songs, and possibly, with a new guitarist.
