Every once in a while a band comes along that embodies the spirit of Australian rock music. Black Guns is one of those bands. Blistering loud guitars, gutsy riffs and a thundering rhythm section thrashing out pure fist pumping tunes in a hail of sweat soaked energy. They're not here to re-invent the wheel or pose for your camera; they're here to continue the irrepressible musical force that is rock'n'roll.
2005 saw Black Guns release their debut EP within a few short months of their formation, score a highly sought after spot on PBS FM's limited edition 'Rock the Hard Way' compilation alongside high profile acts like 67 Special, The Spazzy's and The Specimens and play a barrage of killer shows at Melbourne's premier live venues supporting the likes of The Screaming Jets and Airbourne - all of which garnered them a load of industry attention.
2006 is panning out to be even more exciting for the boys as the buzz surrounding the group continues to build. Early in the year they hit the legendary Hothouse Studios to work with Craig Harnath and Finn Keane, producing their highly anticipated 2nd EP 'In The City'. Supporting its release with a swagger of shows in Melbourne and interstate they have earned a reputation as one of the hardest working bands around.
Black Guns are primed and ready to fire their salvo of Oz rock riffs
into the ears and hearts of punters nationwide.
Get ready to be rocked.
"...once they let rip with a concerted guitar carpet bombing there wasn't a dry pair of pants in the room. Meat and Veg rock it maybe but holy fuck, no three course meal has been this exhilarating."
"Black Guns are a full throttle nuts-in-a-vice guitar arse whipping. Big solos, suitable amounts of hair and buckets of sweat..."
