| Blackout are a 5 piece Metal band formed in November of 2004. The Band was formed from the ashes of Rednerve, a 4 piece band that played a few gigs in Airdrie, but soon died out due to lack of commitment. Weir and Ryan being the only ones wanting to actually commit to creating an awesome Metal band immediately decided to continue the search for the perfect band that would have commitment and Inspirado oozing out of every oriphice.
Ross had started college that year and met Shaun who was in his class. Shaun being into the same music and also wanting to start a Metal band was brought in and quickly fitted in to what the band had been looking for. With 2 guitarists and Ross on Drums and Vocals, they had to find a bassist in order to have a proper line-up. Shaun told the band about Beck, who was in college the year before and ended up dropping out. Beck was brought into practice one night and proved his worth. This was the birth of Blackout. With a gig in two weeks time the band practiced nearly everyday, getting material ready and getting the word around. The gig was a complete success. Gigging regurarly and eventually recording a 3 track demo, Blackout still had one major flaw. Ross had to get off the drumkit. The search was long and stressful. We eventually found a candidate who we thought was what we were looking for, but turned not to be. Stu was out the band and the search continued.
One morning, Beck was sound asleep. Ross decided to give him a call, moaning about drummers, AGAIN, which rudely awakened him and pissed him right off. Right after that call, Beck foned his mate Dave and asked him to drum for Blackout. He agreed and Beck foned Ross back and told him it's sorted, and to fuck up. Beck went back to sleep.
Now Blackout have a solid line-up and continue to insert the Metal up your ass Live, at every opportunity. Blackout are not responsible for any anal injuries sustained at their gigs. |
