From the Orange County, California, Bleeding Through may look like a load of AFI wannabes but trust me, they're not. Quite obviously influenced by Pantera, angry, aggressive vocals combined with mighty bass, screeching, yet melodic guitars and spooky keyboard sounds, make Bleeding Through a unique band. What makes them so different from every other hardcore band on this earth is that they do breakdowns, which gives you time to catch your breath after such aggression of Brandan's voice.
The band started on a small label to produce their first ep, 'I Dream Of July'. They then went to Indecision records in 2002 to make their first proper album, 'Portrait of the Goddess' which was a bit more successful. Their latest release, 'This Is Love, This Is Murderous', was released in 2003 on Trustkill Records.
With former Eighteen Visions and Throwdown guitarist Brandan Schieppati on vocals, Brian Lepke and Scott Danough thrashing guitars, drummer Derek Yongsma, new bass player Ryan Wombacher (taking over from Vjay Kumar who played on 'Portrait of the Goddess') and female keyboard player Marta, Bleeding Through mix hardcore and metal to make a unique sound that leaves your ears buzzing for a while after. These guys can also play live too, very well as their DVD 'This Is Live, This Is Murderous' shows.
Bleeding Through arent a very well known band, but that dosen't stop them from making their music. Their name may sound like a very glum one but you've got to understand that these guys are not the most poppiest of people. This band is for fans of Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera and Atreyu, check them out.
