The Blend, driven by the thought provoking lyrics of frontman, Morrison, transform thoughts and visions into sounds in order to create a self composed image in the listeners mind. The deeply personal songs seem to speak clearly, providing messages that everyone can relate to. Creeping up on the Minneapolis music scene since 2001, this band has finally arrived. With encompassing stage presence, a very distinct and unique sound, this band is well fitting of their reputation. Although grouped within the hip-hop genre, this band is by no means defined by it. The Blend manages to revolutionize the title of "hip-hop" standing deeply rooted in shades of rock, jazz, and classical music. Hailing from Minneapolis and having opened for national touring acts such as The Big Wu, P.O.S., Brother Ali, and Heiruspecs (Atmospheres Backing band), this group is a must see.
Beginning as a bass, drums, and two emcees taking first in a city-wide talent contest, summer of 2001, The Blend has evolved to a solid five piece performing numerous gigs throughout the Minneapolis underground scene. Permeating the Midwest college circuit and touring Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, New York, S. & N. Dakota and Minnesota, the group has attracted a following and developed a reputation in and outside of the hip-hop community. The bands latest release, After What Came Before is their sophomore album and received press & photograph by USA Today.
