LOSERSALWAYSWIN vs. The Image
Hello, iSound, or bandhunt, or as I secretly call it, "ihuntbandSound." It's me, losersalwayswin. Again. But this isn't just another one of my (hundreds) of blog posts, where I reveal quiz results or rant about Hilary Duff. This is the most important one I've ever posted, and possibly may always be. This blog post may very well serve as my emancipation from what I've always called "The Image," or what you all think of me.
I've been on ihuntbandSound for 3 years now, and just now I've realized that only a couple of you have gotten know me. Now, this may serve as a good thing, seeing as I don't want you to know me too well (I'm very content with the lack of stalkers peering in my bedroom window), but it can also be bad. And so I've decided now to give you some insight as to what I am actually like, versus "The Image."
1. shadowbug26 made a comment on the AFI forum a few months ago that I seemingly shrugged off, but in reality found really disheartening. She said something like: "you only listen to what you think will make you cool." And no matter how much I tried to ignore it, it stuck with me. And I will tell you why. I've known shadowbug through ihuntbandSound for a solid three years now. She is probably one of the very first people that I met through it, and just recently I've come to see what she actually thought of me. It's almost safe to say that comment is the reason I decided to make this blog post. And what I want to say about that is: it's simply not true. Not only could I care less about "cool," and its various incarnations, but I don't even know what "cool" is, or what it should be. If I tell you I like it, I do. If I tell you I listen to it, I do. And that's all I have to say about that.
2. BLASTT only hates me on ihuntbandSound. We used to talk on AIM a ton, but I've lost track of that guy. Bgrotha still talks to him, but I have not the energy to ask what his screenname is.
3. I don't actually like Armand. At all. It's safe to say that I find his narcissistic pedantry and chemically-abused coif entertaining, but that's all there is to it. I truly do think he's an aimless child who tries to find himself through five-paragraph long rants about music and how much he hates Hot Topic, when in reality he's spent the entirety of his teenage years confused, roaming the earth with no purpose. I used to have respect for him, until he told me that his career goal was to be a dentist because "you don't have to do anything." He has no drive or desire to do anything with himself, and chances are he's going to waste his life doing some job he's not too passionate about but makes a lot of money doing, and spend all of his free time thinking about how the glass is half empty. I'm not trying to be mean, but that's honestly what I think about him.
4. I say stupid things: on purpose. And this is probably going to be the most controversial point in this blog, because I can see in my mind what you're all going to say: "you're just using that as an excuse for all the stupid sh*t you say." And that's probably what I would say if I were you. But again... it's simply not true. I've said hundreds of ridiculous things just to keep the entertainment value of this site up, even when there was dust practically collecting on the forums. In reality, I know what I'm talking about, and the first to profess to that will be TheDroogie. Yes. Him.
5. I miss obsessed4evagc. I do. I can't even lie about it; I like her. And I miss her.
6. No, I am not a MySpace whore, nor do I add anyone other than people I know, and bands whose songs I use. In fact, I spend more time here on ihuntbandSound than any other website. :) Still.
7. Despite popular opinion, I really do listen to Punk music. I don't just say I do to reinforce some image, and I certainly don't say I do just because it was "cool" for a couple years (see number 1). I listen to it. I live it, I breathe it, it pretty much is my life.
8. I am confused about my sexuality. I have been, I am, and likely will be for a while. Admitting this would vindicate insertnamehere if she still was around.
9. I've never lied on this site. Not once. But then again, if I had, giving you my word for it would also be a lie... no, but really. I haven't. Don't be difficult.
10. Although I like the fact that I'm in the top 5, I'm not too concerned about how many "points" I have on this site. I'm the oldest member who still has a presence here, and as far as I'm concerned, the fact that kjanos, pinksunglasses, and pompettizigzag have added half of this site to their friend list, and thus have more points than me, doesn't matter at all. I've submitted the most content. End of story. And no, I'm not submitting this to be featured because I want points. I have enough of those. I haven't really given any thought to submitting one to be featured before, but this one actually somewhat matters to me, and I want everyone to read it.

I think there is so much more to you, than any of us isounders ever fathomed. I believe what you have write and respect that you have sort of "explained yourself", or what have you. I have been on this site for quite a while, not three years but two and maybe 3 months. What i have meant to say is. I admire your words, and think you do have some enlightening thoughts. |
