Loyalty... or dinero?
There's a lot of hip hop artists on Isound(even though we're overwhelmed by pop rockers), and for the most part we all support each other, cept them lames like slaughter. But what if someone off Isound gets signed? What if you got signed off Isound? Would you try to bring up others with you, and stay loyal to your crew, or just do what catz like Groundwurks do and worry about numero uno? I'd like to believe if Powder or I got signed the other would try to bring up the rest of the crew. Everyone else has their brain teaser blogs, here's mine. And don't be Jackasses and front about shit, be honest, their's nothin wrong with worryin about yourself.

Well I have to say i like this question and I'm gonna answer it strait. But before, I'd like to say that Groundwurks have just got the opportunity, and we don't know if they will even cut the mustard when it comes to selling the units, they have some joints, but say they come out the same time as a big already established artist ( not their fault their record labels) now because of this they don't get their predicted sales, they might get dropped like a ton of hot bricks. Plus how long have G.wurks known anyone on this site, have they met anyone, I bet they will be more concerned with looking after their own peeps in their area! I don't blame them, do you?
Now what would I do? well I might hook up a few cats, not all rappers. But this wouldn't happen for at least a year, coz you need that time to findout if you gonna blow or not (recoup) the industry is a funny thing.
After that time if I'm successful, I'll only bring through cats that are truely hot, remember its your rep on the line and if you bring through a lame duck, it could be the Donnie Brasco syndrome, ya get me. It could take years to get a proper stake in the industry.
If you were my long term friend but I weren't sure you could cut it, i'd just hook you a job up as my tour manager or security something like that. Well thats my colours nailed to the mast!

YOU GOT MY ATTENTION. here's the deal. who knows if any of will get deals, but i do know that each of has our own lives, some would be left behind but not forgotten. if i got signed, i'd still be on here supporting the ones i couldn't take with me. i'd drop notes to the big wiggs to pay attention to isound and it's people/artists. in a sence I have taken things farther for the select few. ON MY BIO I HAVE INCLUDED MY FAVORITE RAPPERS SOME I"M REAL TIGHT W#ITH SOME I"M NOT, I added their pic, their links, even ways to get ahold of the artists on the listener accounts. WHY BE GREEDY AND SAY HEY I'M THE BEST, when there are a group of that has reached the same plateau. we cling like socks, we hang around and go with what ever...kindness and mutual respect. the people i've included are the ones i'm fond of, the ones whove impressed me, the ones that are good people, not haters. IF I NEVER GET FAMOUS MAYBE ONE OF THESE GUYS WILL,AND I'LL BE IN THE AUDIENCE WHEN THEY COME TO CENTRAL NEW YORK,MEET EM AFTER THE SHOW TAKE EM TO "THE TUSK"..tear up the town.IF I DO GET FAMOUS, I'LL GET MINE,TAKE MY CREW, START MY LABEL, AND SHARE THE LOVE. till then I'm Gonna keep repping my boys and help them come up, we all in the same class, i hope we can all graduate together. amen...love POWDER JAY..aka the big pjizzle |

wow... al i have to say is, its sad to hear that a friend would befriend you .. so to say... just because they got signed... they may just be busy with other shit... have you approached them about your query?... maybe they have been talking about others but they have TOO many others that the label isn't listening... maybe the label doesn't think they have enough creditial in the business yet to be saying what is good and what isn't... if it were me... i'd question them about it and see what they have to say |
