Wednesday, November 16th, 2005 Gay Rap: A concerted attack or a pain in the arse! Yes gay rap is out there and gaining substantial press on different platforms including a radio documentary which was recently aired on BBC Radio 1.
Homosexual rap is for the most part just as crude and unnerving at times as underground rap when rapping about sexual exploits. The obvious difference is that they are talking about man on man sex and not leaving nothing to the imagination! To many from the main stream rap community this is unnatural and unwanted. They have also been prone to point out why the hell would a gay man (which most gay rappers are at present) want to be part of an industry that ridicules them and claims that they should be shot! Also rap is looked upon as a red meat eating type culture where the men rule the roost and anything effeminate is frowned upon as a deviation of the true form.
However just as infamous female rapper Little Kim came out fighting for the women to just be as ‘nasty’ as the Men, so from the wilderness came Gay rappers saying f#?k You N#gg? Literally LOL. Jokes aside I feel if they wanna rap fair play, but I’m not happy with their crude and tasteless rap about sex. Yes and for the record I’m not happy with any rapper being crude in regards to their sexual exploits unless they do it with a little style like myself lmao!
And I’m not gonna even go into the rumour of some hardcore rappers/producers being gay.
Let me know your views on this touchy subject! Thanx.

It's disrespectful 4 anybody to be talking about how they like to fuck men/women,they should keep that shit in the bedroom.I do not promote gays/lezzies,because i believe it is wrong and am not afraid to say it.That does'nt mean am gonna diss them/abuse because they are what they are (unless they need to be dissed 4 talking shit!!) At the end of the day, only god is the judge.

I dont really like the crude sexual references either its best to be subtle & leave things to the imagination, read between the lines so to speak(unless done in style like you and Powder definately do!)Ok so your gay but do u need to shout it from the roof tops & be explicit about it I dont think so... |

DiMeSBaL's comment posted November 16th @ 6:41 PM: WELLLLLL, this is.... weird. I saw something about this on MTV somewhere, and I have to say, I have the same opinion as I had then. Being GAY is your choice, and they have their own rights, just like I do for creativity, but MAN on MAN sex is something that does not belong in the mainstream, (in my opinion it don't belong anywhere, but someone else being gay don't really affect me.) Woman on woman sex would be fine, cuz well, that's just fuckin cool. But seriously, if these fag MC's got skills yeah they should be heard, but rappin about man sex(ewww) will go over about as well as Vanilla Ice makin a rap comeback would, or a Mike Tyson apology. If they got something to say about anything else, it ain't that big a deal. They'll lose a battle to me just like any other (more masculine) MC.
I don't think Missy Elliot would approve either, though Ciara might go shoppin with the fruity bastards...
Thank God I have never heard any of these songs.. |

PhantomX's comment posted November 16th @ 7:37 PM: Being gay, homosexual, queer or whatever you'd like to call it has been around as long as the sun that shines on everyone's freedom of choice and humanity. As far as gay-rap music is concerned, Phantom X has never heard any of it personally. But I nor anyone affiliated under contract with Spoken X Digital Media Group have absolutely nothing against the straight-up and out gay people that chooses their own lifestyle. Literati Di Graffito X has personal web-master friends: *****Homo Mojo--Get your Writing On*****and has been sponsored to some degree with their help getting our distribution out; we thank them from the bottom of our hearts with nothing but love and respect! Furthermore, Literati X personally took a steadfast stand on both their site and public forum unto their readership base that Spoken X Digital Media Group support the right to marry within the non-institutional same sex genda-quo-homo on demand as you chose to blow! In our business and personal life, we always respect the next person's right to eXpress or address the inner desires of the chaotic nature of what others within the norm may not wish to see or heard revealed. As far as Gay-Rap is concerned, I'm sure that society in association with the MTV gay-life society will create more millionaires than gangster-rap has ever done in the coming years: "Sound of Literati" witness the powerful eXperience of the spoken word eXplosion as Literati X spray the black X plague on every credible digital music store in the universe. . .peace to my pal, Crazeski! |

BuddyLove's comment posted November 16th @ 9:48 PM: Shitt!...Damnnn!..., If these gay rappers are in my country airwaves, they be shot, condemned, and banished to another country. In my personnel view, Gay rap discussions or forums should`t be at the airwaves at all, its disrespectful, an insult, and its disgusting to the Music industry. Its a shame this form of music is gaining press attention over at BBC Radio 1, where else there more pressing issue at hand, such as poverty and terrorism. To me, I totally agree with freedom of choice or believes of being gay, Its their right, I`m`not against it, But promoting explicit sex between men in public!...I say...FUCK YA`LLLL!!!!!!...You faggots should stick up your ass and dick and stuffed it on the xxxx rated site. I hope to all the music lovers and artist out there!!. Lets keep our airwaves and music industry clean and respectful for our future generations, and only the real playas rule the airwaves. |

B-ill's comment posted November 17th @ 5:48 AM: being a free market and freedom of speech advocate i have to say that if their is a market for this music it should be made available to this market! if an artist wishes to express himself in this manner than he should! i bet these guys arent even gay and are just doing this to shock an already shell shocked audiance! and anybody who opposes it plays right into there game! i've said it before and i'll say it again! any publicity is good publicity! some music moves money and some moves mountains ! what type of artist are you going to be! i always said a rapper can make more money sucking dick in central park than rapping !i just didn't know if you'de do it or not! damn! guess now you can rap about sucking dick and make money! wow! |

djinfla's comment posted November 24th @ 8:29 AM: Are we talking about freedom of expression or freedom to fuck who, or what we want to? I have always been of the opinion that if "I ain't fucking ya - than I don't give a rats-ass who you are fucking". None of my "fucking" business. (of age and consensual-of course).
As to what they rap about...gang...ya can't have it both ways. They either get to say what they want, or they get told what is "OK" by the same people who get to tell you what is wrong about what you are wanna rap about. Shit, I remember the cluster-fuck of a trial in Florida years ago with 2Live Crew's "obscenity" charge. Now, how many people here thought that Luther and friends were getting the shaft? Probably the same ones of ya that are saying that gay rappers have no right to be rapping about man on man sex. It is about thought people. Words are only symbols for the minds pictures. If it is the thoughts you want to destroy - start in your own mind. |

Crazeski's comment posted November 25th @ 6:48 PM: Thanks for those that passed by to drop your views it was enlightening and I knew this blog would cause a little eye brow raising LOL.
Having assessed all the points being made i have come to this conclusion if you don't like it, don't buy it or turn it over if you hear it. Freedom to take things to the extreme is now the order of the day in this Modern Day Babylon which is the planet earth! I remember when rap was and in many cases is still to many in power a form that generates violence and crime (yeah right.
Peace my people!

ZeroOrDie's comment posted January 1st @ 10:13 PM: Everyone has the right to talk about what they want with their music, even if it isn't widely excepted. I mean if a lot of rappers can talk about having sex with many different women, then homosexuals can talk about issues that relate with gay/lesbian people. |
